Job Description and Duties
The Food Service Technician I will be directed by the Food Service Supervisor I/II and/or Supervising Cook I/II in Nutrition Services at the Department of State Hospitals – Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:
- Assist and participate in the preparation and distribution of food and beverages.
- Assist with the production and distribution of food while adhering to requirements for physical exertion, infection control, and food safety/Hazardous Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP).
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Maintain order, cleanliness, and sanitation in assigned area of responsibility.
- Adhere to requirements for safety, security, emergency response, a non-hostile work environment, and rights of patients.
- Participate in Performance Improvement activities and other miscellaneous responsibilities.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet the minimum qualifications specified in the examination bulletin/classification specifications.
