The Research, Automation, and Data Division's (RADD) mission is to improve the way the Department collects, manages, and deploys data to support the efficient, effective, and equitable delivery of government social services. RADD manages major statewide initiatives to streamline and automate eligibility determination and benefit administration for key safety net programs, and leads efforts such as human-centered design, data governance, automation and continuous quality improvement, data visualization and analysis, and research partnerships to improve client outcomes and promote program integrity. Across these efforts, RADD provides coaching to the Department on all aspects of the data lifecycle.

Job Description And Duties Plans, directs and reviews the work of the Division's Personnel, Training, Information Technology, and Budgetary liaisons. Oversees the Division's human resource recruitments and appointments, salary savings, and statistical position and projection information provided to upper management. Assists in the development of statistical information relative to staffing needs, authorized positions, temporary positions, and vacant positions. Provides direction for all minor and major Divisional reorganizations and staff realignment. Coordinates with the CDSS Personnel Bureau, Budget Bureau, and divisional staff pertaining to budget change proposals and position establishment and expiration. Ensures data is consistent with the State Controller's Office official records. Provides advise and consultation to Department supervisors, managers, and executive staff regarding personnel management, Classification and Pay, and hiring practices. The Division has over 100 authorized positions.

This includes monitoring equipment and software purchases and deployment for division staff. Tracks and guides project statuses, receives and analyzes input to aid in strategic planning for Divisional equipment and software needs.
Plans, directs, coordinates, & reviews office planning and requisition. Responsibilities include identifying future space needs, development of budget data for facilities operating costs, initiating requests to alter floor as needed through the Facilities Support Section of the Business Services Bureau in negotiating problem resolutions.
Supervises Special Projects, including but not limited to: Division's Conflict of Interest Filings; the Division's Budget Change Proposal log; the Division's Position History log; and other special projects that arise.
Performs other administrative division duties as needed.
