Job Description And Duties
Under the direction of the CEA Range B, Division Director of the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent (MCAH) Division, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) will perform work of complex difficulty in a variety of consultative and analytical assignments in support of the MCAH Division Director and Assistant Division Director. The AGPA is responsible for assisting in the standardization of the Division’s business practices and utilizing analytical techniques to identify and make recommendations to management regarding governmental issues, which requires a high degree of initiative, independence, tact, and discretion. The AGPA provides administrative, logistical and analytical services in support of the Director and Assistant Director. The incumbent will plan and coordinate travel arrangements for the Director and Assistant Director and independently coordinate, research, evaluate and prepare briefing materials; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; maintain professionalism with frequent contact with the Center for Family Health, the CDPH Directors Office, state and federal agencies, community partners, and the public. Detailed, confidential, and sensitive work are an important role of this position. Excellence in customer service including, but not limited to, open communication, courtesy, demeanor, and responsiveness are critical to success in this position.
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with CDPH’s Telework Program. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.
Travel may be required for this position. Reimbursement for travel takes into consideration an employee’s designated headquarters, as reflected in the duty statement, and is subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the designated headquarters office will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
