Job Description And Duties

Under the general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II (ITS II) over the Network Services Unit in the Office of Information Services, the Information Technology Associate (ITA) will plan, develop and control computer networks. Provides the administration and technical support of data communication equipment, applications and network software. The ITA monitors computer networks to ensure that they are operational on a daily basis. The ITA will also interact closely with Technical Support, Server Admin and Application teams regarding connectivity issues or degraded network performance of any DIR site. Provides technical analysis to support services for the design, development, Proof of Value (POV), Proof of Concept (POC), testing and implementation of network related equipment in a WAN/LAN/Wi-Fi environment.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and work in closets/IDF rooms for hours at a time. DIR does not participate in E-Verify.

Working Conditions

This position is located at:

Typical office environment and/or teleworking. Requires travel to remote offices in Northern California. Currently, DIR is in a hybrid work schedule, 2 days minimum required to work onsite.

Special Requirements

Statement of Qualifications :

  • Describe a project where you deployed network switches and/or firewalls and give examples of common problems you ran into and had resolved.
  • What is your experience with wired and wireless networking hardware you have used or installed?
  • Describe your experience as the lead for a technical project and include challenges you faced with respect to timelines.
