Job Description And Duties
The Internal Audit Unit assists the California Department of Industrial Relations' (DIR) Administration and management by providing objective assurance whether assets are safeguarded, operating efficiency and effectiveness is promoted, compliance with applicable laws and regulations is maintained, and financial and management reporting is reliable.
Under the general direction of the Supervising Management Auditor, the Staff Management Auditor (SMA), is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the work of internal audit teams that conduct financial, performance, and compliance audits of DIR’s operations. The SMA also assists the Audit Unit Chief in the administration and oversight of DIR’s risk management functions. The incumbent has responsibility in the evaluation of policies and programs.

Working Conditions
This position is located at: 2180 Harvard Street, Suite 175; Sacramento, CA 95815.
The incumbent will work in a cubicle with natural and artificial lighting in an air-conditioned office building with elevator access. The incumbent is required to work extensively on the computer as necessary for email communication, research, working on audits, and other purposes.This office-centered position offers flexible work schedule opportunities.

- Describe your experience leading audit teams in performing risk-based compliance, fiscal, performance, and information technology audits in accordance with International Standards for the professional Practice of Internal Auditing and/or Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards.
- Describe your experience building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders, peers, and staff at all levels.
