About the Role
This position is eligible to telework up to four (4) days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. This is subject to change based on operational need and/or future return to office orders. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment. Responsibilities
- Under the direction of an Assistant Chief Counsel and subject to the Chief Counsel's administrative review, the Attorney III, while exercising independent legal judgment, handles difficult and complex assignments on important and sensitive matters and provides advice and counsel to DGS staff and other state agency staff pertaining to state contracting, procurement, and administrative matters.
- The Attorney III promotes and is accountable for customer satisfaction and quality legal services.
- The Attorney III may act in a lead capacity but does not supervise other attorneys.

Required Skills
- Familiarity with Intellectual Property matters;
- Strong ability in legal research and analysis;
- Ability to quickly grasp legal concepts in multiple or new areas of law;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to handle multiple assignments at once.

Pay range and compensation package
$10,852.00 - $15,325.00 A New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
