Title: Attorney III

Pay: $10,852.00 - $15,325.00 (L) Monthly


Both levels are considered. The complexity of the duties will be modified to be consistent with the classification of the candidate hired.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, analyze and provide legal advice, both in writing and orally, to the Department on complex legal matters involving the Department’s fiscal responsibilities, state fiscal and budgetary matters, and capital outlay, including complex financial real estate transactions.


  • Research, analyze, and provide legal advice, both in writing and orally, to the Department on a full range of administrative law issues, including the Public Records Act, Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act, Administrative Procedure Act, public contracting and conflict of interest matters.





  • Research, analyze, and provide legal advice, both in writing and orally, to the Department staff, Program Budget Managers, and Executive Office on matters concerning state mandated local programs in various program areas.


Attorney III Requirements:

  • Five years of legal experience in the practice of law
  • Active membership in The California State Bar



Attorney IV Requirements:

  • Six years of legal experience in the practice of law
  • Active membership in The California State Bar
