About the role:
Looking for a full-time and driven candidate, preferably with flavor compounding experience. Assist Flavor Chemist with new and existing flavor projects.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately weigh and compound keys and flavors according to the formulas
- Maintaining, organizing, cleaning and stocking supplies in the flavor lab and flavor library
- Generating and maintaining documentation; product specifications, nutritionals, safety data sheets, etc.
- Assist Flavor Chemist with receiving, setting up flavoring ingredients for evaluation.
- Participate in organoleptic evaluations of flavors in application and in finished product.
- Prepare samples for customers, including packing and shipping
- Follow all safety policies, food safety standards and procedures
- Developing knowledge of aroma chemicals, essential oils, and other flavor ingredients
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree; Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related scientific discipline required and/or at least three-year prior workplace laboratory experience
- Ability to use sensory skills (taste and smell) for evaluation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to collaborate with R&D, Sales, Purchasing, Quality Assurance and other cross-functional teams
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask while maintaining excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and perform other duties as assigned
- Complete projects in a timely manner
