Position Summary
Our Design Consultants work directly with clients in their homes or in showrooms through pre-scheduled appointments. This is a consultative sales interior design role where you will create custom storage solutions and deliver a premium customer experience from concept to installation.
Key Responsibilities
As a California Closets Design Consultant, you will:
- Offer a luxury experience through product expertise and elevated service
- Provide in-home design consultations and space planning
- Design custom solutions using proprietary CAD software
- Own the full client lifecycle: consultation → design → sale → installation
- Work with interior designers, decorators, and architects
- Manage multiple client projects with strong attention to detail
- Travel daily to appointments in Rockland, Orange, & Sullivan counties
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in sales, interior design, home improvement, or related field
- Strong consultative sales and closing skills
- Ability to build rapport and develop client relationships quickly
- Highly organized with excellent time management
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Requirements
- Tech savvy – ability to learn proprietary CAD design software
- Must provide own laptop compatible with CAD program
- Must be able to travel frequently to Rockland, Orange, and Sullivan counties
- Valid driver’s license required
- Full-time availability
Compensation
- Paid training
- Uncapped commission structure
- On-target earnings: $85,000–$120,000
- Pre-set, qualified appointments provided
Work Environment
- Field-based, in-home sales role
- Combination of client visits, remote design work, and showroom collaboration

Pay: $55,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
