California Baptist University, an evangelical Christian university affiliated with the California Southern Baptist Convention, invites applications for the Construction Management Program faculty position (tenure-track faculty) to begin Fall 2026 in the Gordon and Jill Bourns College of Engineering’s Civil Engineering and Construction Management (CECM) department.
Pay Range
The compensation for this appointment will range from $95,000 – $115,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants must have a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with at least one year of industry experience at a managerial level in the domestic construction field, or a Master’s degree with at least five years of managerial-level industry experience in the domestic construction field. Candidates must embrace the mission of the University through evidence of a clear understanding and commitment to teach through the integration of Christian faith and learning.
Teaching Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching several undergraduate construction courses including, but not limited to: Computer Aided Design (CAD), construction materials and methods, construction site management, construction project delivery methods, construction safety, construction law, and sustainable construction. In addition to teaching, the individual selected will be expected to support the broad teaching mission of the department. The candidate will also participate in curriculum development and learning outcome assessment. Other responsibilities include coaching student competition team(s) and providing service to the department, university, and profession. The selected candidate must also demonstrate effective communication skills and be proficient in computer software applications. Professional certifications, such as LEED AP and OSHA, are preferred.
The CECM department offers undergraduate degrees in Civil Engineering (ABET accredited) and Construction Management (ACCE accredited).
