Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and move materials efficiently.
- Install underground utilities including sewer lines, water supply systems, sanitary drainage systems, and stormwater infrastructure following blueprint specifications.
- Read and interpret construction plans, technical drawings, and blueprints to accurately execute utility installation projects.
- Perform construction trenching activities ensuring proper depth, alignment, and safety standards are maintained throughout the process.
- Utilize utility locating tools and techniques to identify existing underground utilities before excavation to prevent damage or accidents.
- Conduct pipe installation using pipe lasers and other precision tools to ensure proper alignment and connection of pipeline systems.
- Adhere strictly to federal construction safety regulations and safety protocol guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
Skills
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader operation, backhoe operation, excavator handling, and front loader trucks.
- Experience with concrete finishing, welding, and interpreting technical drawings related to utility systems.
- Knowledge of wastewater systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and water supply infrastructure installation.
- Skilled in utility trenching techniques and sewer line installation with a focus on following construction plans accurately.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings while adhering to safety regulations during all phases of construction work.
- Familiarity with utility locating methods and the use of pipe lasers for precise pipeline installation.
- Strong understanding of construction site experience with underground utilities installation projects involving pipelines or sewer systems.
