Lifeguard

Overview:

We are currently seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to join our team as Lifeguards. As a Lifeguard, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests at the waterpark. This is a vital position that requires strong swimming skills, knowledge of first aid, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations.

Position: CaliBunga San Jose – Lifeguard
The pay rate for this position is $21.00/hour

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform lifeguard duties while following all park safety and operating procedures
• Participate in department audits and require in-service skills training sessions
• Greet and provide guests with courteous service
• Successfully complete Ellis and Associates Lifeguard training and become a certified lifeguard
• Communicate park information to guests regarding proper attraction procedures, directions, accessibility, and park policies
• Contribute to park clean up, including but not limited to picking up trash, straightening chairs, cleaning pools, stacking tubes, wiping tables, and pressure washing
• Inspection of the rides/attractions and equipment
• Communicate appropriate park or team related concerns to Lead or Supervisor
• Other duties as assigned and required based on the needs of the park

Qualifications/Skills:

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must be able to communicate with guests and other employees effectively
• Previous experience lifeguarding preferred
• Available to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
• Swim 200 yards
• Retrieve a 10 pound brick from at least 10 feet of water
• Possess 20/25 correct vision (corrective lens, if required, must be worn while on duty)

• Must be able to successfully complete the Ellis and Associates Lifeguard Training Program, including a swim test.

Physical Demands:

Requires sitting, kneeling, bending and standing for long periods of time, ability to walk long distances within the park and exposure to variable outside temperatures, including high heat. Some positions required working at elevated heights.

Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty five pounds.
