Job description
The Claims Mailroom Clerk sorts, groups, and scans medical claim forms. This entry-level position is responsible for following regulatory and internal guidelines in conjunction with company client policies and procedures as they apply to claims document scanning. The Claims Mailroom Clerk is responsible to scan and track the batches for accuracy.
Position Responsibilities
- Prepare medical claims records for scanning by taping loose sheets, removing staples, verifying consistent patient information, sorting and batching like documents together.
- Create batches of claims medical records within scanning software in preparation for scanning.
- Scan images utilizing document scanner and scanning software.
- View images in software to ensure all images were scanned and meet quality standards.
- Meet or exceed set benchmarks.
- Track and balance scanned claims forms.
- Communication with clients when necessary.
- Printing documents for mailing.
- Outbound mailing
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience and skills
- Proof of high school diploma or GED required.
- CA Driver License
- Minimum one-year Clerical, Data Entry or Document review experience
- General computer knowledge required - Higher proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to read and follow instructions
