Job Summary
The Guidewire Configuration Dev is responsible for leading the configuration and customization of the Guidewire Cloud platform to meet business requirements This includes overseeing a team of developers ensuring best practices in configuration and collaborating with business analysts architects and project stakeholders The Configuration Lead plays a crucial role in managing system integrations delivering quality solutions and aligning the platform with organizational goals
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor a team of Guidewire developers fostering a collaborative and productive environment
Assign tasks track progress and ensure timely delivery of high quality configurations
Provide guidance on technical and functional aspects of the Guidewire platform
Configuration and Customization
Oversee the design and configuration of Guidewire modules PolicyCenter to meet specific business needs
Customize screens workflows and business rules using Guidewire tools and technologies such as Gosu scripting and Guidewire Studio
Implement and test configuration changes ensuring functionality and performance
Requirement Analysis and Collaboration
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand and validate business requirements
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and configuration tasks
Act as the primary technical liaison between development teams and business units
Quality Assurance
Review and validate configuration changes to ensure compliance with best practices and technical standards
Perform code reviews and provide feedback to ensure optimal quality and performance
Identify potential risks or issues in configurations and develop mitigation strategies
Integration Management
Oversee integrations between Guidewire and external systems ensuring seamless data exchange and compatibility
Support integration testing and address any issues during the process
Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations
Documentation and Standards
Maintain comprehensive documentation of configuration designs processes and changes
Establish and enforce coding standards and development methodologies within the team
Stay updated with Guidewire platform updates and industry best practices applying relevant changes
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
Provide regular updates on project status milestones and challenges to stakeholders and project managers
Participate in AgileScrum ceremonies such as sprint planning reviews and retrospectives
Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions for team members and stakeholders
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field
Experience
8 years of experience with Guidewire Cloud platform configurations and customizations
Proven experience with at least two Guidewire modules PolicyCenter BillingCenter ClaimCenter
Experience in leading teams and managing configuration projects
Strong experience in Agile or Scrum based development environments
Technical Skills
Expertise in Gosu programming and Guidewire Studio
Strong understanding of Guidewire data model and application architecture
Hands on experience with integration technologies such as RESTful APIs SOAP and messaging queues
Familiarity with SQL XML JSON and other data exchange formats
Proficiency with CICD tools like Jenkins Git and Docker is preferred
Soft Skills
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic environment
Certifications Mandatory
