Position Summary


Caliber Resource Partners, a non-operated oil and gas company, is seeking an experienced Title Coordinator to lead internal title and ownership functions across a diversified asset portfolio. This role is critical to ensuring accurate revenue distribution, ownership integrity, and risk mitigation across operated partnerships.


The ideal candidate will have experience interpreting title opinions, managing division order processes, driving title curative, and supporting acquisitions and divestitures, including Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) negotiation and title-related diligence.


Key Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and break down title opinions (DOTO, drilling, and supplemental opinions) into actionable ownership data

• Set up, maintain, and audit ownership decks, ensuring alignment with operator records and internal systems

• Review, approve, and manage division orders, including reconciliation of discrepancies with operators

• Conduct and oversee title curative, identifying defects and coordinating resolution with operators, attorneys, and third parties

• Analyze and validate net revenue interests (NRI), working interests (WI), royalties, and burdens

• Serve as the primary internal resource for title-related questions, discrepancies, and issue resolution

• Correspond directly with operators, title attorneys, brokers, and other third parties to resolve ownership issues, confirm title positions, and ensure accurate revenue distribution

• Audit and reconcile operator decks and revenue statements against internal ownership records

• Track and manage suspense issues related to title defects or ownership gaps


Acquisitions & Divestitures (A&D):

• Support and lead title due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures, including review of data rooms, title opinions, and supporting documents

• Identify title defects, risks, and exposure, and quantify potential impact to value

• Assist in negotiation of Purchase and Sale Agreements (PSAs), specifically title, defect, and indemnity provisions

• Prepare and review title schedules, defect notices, and curative requirements in connection with transactions

• Coordinate and correspond with counterparties, legal counsel, and third parties throughout the A&D lifecycle

• Develop and maintain internal title standards, procedures, and best practices

• Utilize land and accounting systems (e.g., P2, Enertia, Quorum, or similar) to manage ownership data and reporting


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, Business, or related field — or Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school (or equivalent relevant experience)

• 5–15 years of oil and gas title experience, with strong emphasis on ownership analysis and division orders

• Direct experience supporting A&D transactions and PSA negotiation

• Strong background in a non-operated or owner-focused environment preferred

• Advanced understanding of:

• Division order processes and revenue distribution

• Title opinions and ownership calculations

• Title curative and defect resolution

• PSA structure and title provisions

• Proven ability to build, audit, and reconcile ownership decks

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively correspond with operators, attorneys, and external stakeholders

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and land/accounting systems


Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience reconciling operator decks vs. internal ownership records

• Multi-basin experience (Permian, Mid-Con, Appalachia, etc.)

• Familiarity with revenue accounting workflows and systems

• Prior experience in a lead or supervisory capacity

• Energy Management or Juris Doctorate preferred
