Construction Superintendent - Public Works

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Superintendent specializing in Public Works projects to lead and oversee complex infrastructure construction initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for managing on-site operations, ensuring project safety, quality, and schedule adherence, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders. Your expertise in construction management software, project scheduling, and heavy civil construction will drive project success from inception to completion. Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all construction activities on public works sites, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.
• Develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar construction management software to monitor progress and adjust workflows proactively.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate smooth communication and resolve issues promptly.
• Oversee quality control processes by reviewing blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings; ensure work meets all regulatory and safety requirements including OSHA standards.
• Manage project budgets, track costs using HeavyBid or comparable estimating tools, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
• Conduct regular site inspections utilizing tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing; enforce safety protocols including OSHA regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
• Review contracts, change orders, and procurement documents to ensure scope adherence and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supervise field personnel by providing guidance on construction site activities, supervising subcontractors, and ensuring adherence to project schedules.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of daily progress reports, safety logs, inspection records, and project updates for transparency and accountability.

Experience

• Proven track record managing large-scale public works or heavy civil construction projects with extensive site supervision experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar platforms for project tracking and documentation.
• Demonstrated expertise in construction estimating, budgeting, contract administration, and project scheduling.
• Hands-on experience reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings; familiarity with construction estimating tools like HeavyBid is preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA safety standards coupled with practical experience implementing safety programs on active construction sites.
• Supervisory experience leading diverse teams of skilled tradespeople; excellent management skills to motivate teams toward project goals.
• Ability to interpret technical data using tools like ohmmeters or other electrical testing devices; strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments. Pay: $150,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year
