Bus Aide

Marshall Public Schools serves over 2,500 PK-13 students across eight (8) school buildings throughout the Marshall and Albion communities. M-F

7:30 AM - 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM (4.5 hr/day; 22.5 hr/wk)

$14.77/hr

Job Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent
• Basic understanding and operation of adaptive equipment
• Capable of lifting and moving objects in excess of 60 lbs.
• Demonstrate a caring, patient attitude towards students
• Ability to work well with children and adults
• Ability to react calmly in emergency situations
• Calm and patient demeanor
  
  

General Responsibilities

To assist the bus driver to ensure the safe transportation of students to and from designated locations.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

The nature of responsibilities listed is a reflection of the job description

• Assist bus driver in maintaining and controlling student behavior/discipline on bus
• Maintain working knowledge of all terms on student data forms
• Maintain individual behavior logs as directed by the Director of Transportation
• Prepare and submit Bus Conduct Reports as necessary
• Inform parents and Director of Transportation of any unused incidents or circumstances
• Discharge students only at authorized stops
• Administer first aid as necessary
• Serve as primaryp rovider as established in the school district's Bloodborne Pathogen policy and procedures
• Remain informed with established transportation department emergency procedures
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation
