What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant - FOC position at Calhoun County of Michigan?
Under the supervision of the assigned supervisor/manager, performs a variety of clerical tasks involved in processing court cases. Activities include setting up case files, processing complaints and orders, scheduling proceedings, preparing correspondence and reports, entry of data and filing case documents
- Establishes case files and files case documents; includes receiving petitions and examining for accuracy and completeness, entering case information into the computer, and filing case reports and other documents.
- Schedules parenting time enforcement and child support motion hearings. Prepares and issues notices to appear, and enters into court calendar.
- Schedules appointments for investigator, sends notice of the appointment times to the parties.
- Provides information via telephone and at the counter to parties and attorneys regarding case status, scheduled proceedings, court policies and procedures and related matters.
- Processes reports and recommendations prepared by investigators following court ordered investigations. This includes, mailing to all interested parties and sending to the court.
- Prepares correspondence, memos, reports, invoices, and letters for friend of the court staff from longhand drafts.
- Works in other areas of the friend of the court as required.
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Proof of completion of training course in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum two years of clerical experience, preferably in a court or closely related setting.
