About the Role:
The Laundry Personnel position plays a critical role in maintaining the hygiene and operational efficiency of healthcare and social assistance facilities by ensuring all linens, uniforms, and related materials are cleaned, sanitized, and properly handled. This role directly supports patient care and staff safety by adhering to strict infection control and sanitation standards. The individual in this position will manage the sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of laundry items, ensuring timely availability to meet the facility’s daily needs. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent cross-contamination and maintain compliance with health regulations. Ultimately, this role contributes to a clean and safe environment that supports the overall well-being of patients, residents, and staff within the healthcare setting.
Qualifications:
- Compassionate and caring demeanor.

- Preferred familiarity with laundry in long-term care or within a healthcare setting.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety and sanitation protocols.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Must possess at a minimum, a 12th-grade education or its equivalent.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, sort, and weigh soiled laundry, linens, garments, etc., according to facility guidelines and infection control standards.
- Wash, dry, fold, press/iron laundry and distribute according to facility guidelines and infection control standards.
- Operate and maintain laundry equipment, including washers and dryers, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
- Follow all safety and sanitation protocols to prevent the spread of infection and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Maintain a clean environment.
- Assist in inventory management of laundry supplies and notify management when stock levels are low.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to prioritize urgent laundry needs and ensure timely delivery of clean items.
Skills:
The required skills enable the Laundry Personnel to efficiently operate laundry machinery and manage the cleaning process while maintaining strict hygiene standards critical in healthcare settings. Attention to detail ensures that all items are properly sanitized and free from damage, supporting infection control efforts. Hours:
This is a part-time position working approximately 24 hours per week. The work schedule may vary and can include shifts from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., or 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
