Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP (Calfee), a full-service corporate law firm with offices in Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Indianapolis has an opportunity for a Billing Specialist to join its Cleveland office.
This position is responsible for the preparation of client bills. Must possess a willingness and desire to provide superior service and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment. The highest attention to detail and quality, as well as professionalism, is required for this position. Observing strict confidentiality of client and firm matters are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare client invoices according to client-specific requirements, such as formats, codes, billing narratives, and submission timelines.
- Generate draft invoices for attorney review, apply edits, and finalize invoices according to client guidelines.
- Review and verify accuracy of invoices and supporting documentation, ensuring invoices meet billing standards and guidelines.
- Research and respond to billing inquiries from attorneys and clients; resolve issues and discrepancies and document outcomes.
- Assist in submission of electronic bills using E-Billing Hub (EBH) software.
- Maintain accurate billing records and supporting documentation within the firm’s billing system
- Assist with projects and other accounting related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 software, including Word and Excel; data entry skills.
- Experience with Elite Enterprise, 3E or CMS accounting software and e-billing desired but not required.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong attention to details, organizational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to research and resolve errors or discrepancies, effectively and efficiently.
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and desire to deliver accurate work products.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $70,000 per year.
