What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paramedic position at CALEX Ambulance?
POSITION SUMMARY
An employee in this Paramedic position supervises and coordinates the activities of an assigned crew(s). The employee has the responsibility of assuring that equipment and ambulances are in working order and each unit is staffed with appropriate personnel to assure operational readiness. This position requires frequent contact with the public requiring the employee to have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Work is performed under general supervision of the Management Team and is evaluated by observation and by effectiveness of the crews operation.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Paramedic Shift Lead is accountable to the CEO/Chief and then up the chain of command as appropriate.
INTERRELATIONSHIPS
Works closely with the hospital physicians and staff as well as the pre-hospital EMS, fire and law enforcement staff. Inter-relates closely with clinical providers and administrative staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of a Paramedic program.
Current licensure as a Nationally Registered Paramedic.
Current licensure as an Emergency Medical Care Provider in the State of Vermont & New Hampshire.
Valid driver’s license and insurable by CALEX insurance company.
Current BLS certifications required.
Excellent interpersonal skills, conflict management and time management skills required.
Basic computer systems knowledge.
Completion of internal Crew Chief training.
Completion of ICS 100/200 and IS 700/800.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
