Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Ombudsman located in Lake Charles, LA. The Ombudsman will be responsible for advocating on behalf of residents in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other long-term care settings. Day-to-day tasks include investigating and resolving complaints, monitoring facility conditions, educating residents and their families about their rights, and working with facility staff to address issues. The Ombudsman will also document cases, conduct outreach, and participate in training sessions.
Qualifications
- Experience in advocacy, investigation, and conflict resolution
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations and resident rights
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively
- Empathy and understanding of the needs of elderly individuals
- Ability to travel to various facilities as needed
- Relevant certifications or training in elder care or social work is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Gerontology, Healthcare Administration, or related field
Work History:
- Minimum of three years of steady employment.
- Experience in gerontology or long-term care settings is highly desirable.

- Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation are required.
