JOB DETAILS:
Position: Manufacturing Safety Specialist
JOB REF#: 44470
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
Location: ONSITE - Huntsville, AL 35810
Pay Rate: OPEN/MARKET RATE (W2 ONLY)
** Must be LOCAL or willing to RELOCATE at your own expense**
** This is role is 100% ONSITE, no remote work offered**
SHIFT: MON-FRI 6:30 AM (CST)
Safety Analyst will maintain and improve a variety of safety programs, including HazCom, Industrial Hygiene, Utility Vehicles, Plant PPE, Safety Training, Fall Protection, and Confined Space. This role involves conducting accident investigations, finding root causes, and tracking countermeasures, including early symptoms investigation. Additionally, you will assist with Workers' Compensation investigations and provide new hire safety orientation training.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Maintain and enhance safety programs such as HazCom, Industrial Hygiene, Utility Vehicles, Plant PPE, Safety Training, Fall Protection, and Confined Space.
• Conduct accident investigations, determine root causes, and track countermeasures, including early symptoms investigation.
• Assist with Workers' Compensation investigations.
• Provide new hire safety orientation training.
• Partner closely with Maintenance, Logistics and other Groups on safety issues.
• Complete Kanban for new/modified production equipment.
• Confirming production equipment meets design standards.
• Ability to interpret and apply OSHA 1910.126 Safety Standards.
• Completes machine risk assessments.
• Conduct ergonomics process analysis.
• Understanding of TSMS System.
• Monitor Safety KPI’s – understand root cause of Safety incidents & countermeasures.
• Conduct and correct issues from various floor safety audits.
• Communicate major issues and selected c/m to Executive Team.
• Develop and manage plans to achieve Hoshin target (update status monthly).
• Develop and deploy audit strategies.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• Safety Analyst must have experience conducting accident investigations, finding root causes, and tracking countermeasures, including early symptoms investigation
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, including OSHA 29 CFR 1910, with the ability to interpret and apply standards in a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with industrial safety programs such as Hazard Communication (HazCom), Industrial Hygiene, Fall Protection, Confined Space, and PPE management
• Experience conducting accident/incident investigations, including root cause analysis methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) and tracking corrective actions
• Familiarity with machine safety, risk assessments, and validating equipment against safety design standards
• Ability to conduct and lead safety audits, identify gaps, and implement corrective and preventive measures
• Experience monitoring and analyzing Safety KPIs, identifying trends, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and systems
• Ability to develop and deliver safety training, including new hire orientation and ongoing workforce education
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present safety issues, risks, and countermeasures to leadership
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting, tracking, and data analysis
Other Requirements:
• 25%: Over-time - which covers weekends, holidays, and shutdowns, when required
