JOB DETAILS:
Position: Mechanical Field Engineer
JOB REF#: 44641 - 1495893
Duration: 12 Months (On-going Contract)
Location: ONSITE - Georgetown, KY 40324
Pay Rate: $68.00 - $74.00 per hour (W2 Only)
- - Must be LOCAL or willing to RELOCATE at your own expense- -
- - This is role is 100% ONSITE, no remote work offered- -
Mechanical Engineering Duties:
Facilitate mechanical building system startups & commissioning activities.
Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) assistance in review of product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, engineering design drawings and specifications, & contractor generated RFIs.
Extensive knowledge of safety procedures, safe work practices, and OSHA requirements for mechanical installations including Lock-Out, Electrical Safe Work Practices, Control of Hazardous Energy, and arc flash safety.
Possess extensive knowledge of prevailing building codes and professional industry standards, such as IBC, NEC, NESC, NFPA, ASME, AMCA, ARI, AWS, ASHRAE, and FM.
Work with building construction contractors and equipment vendors to coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning & hand-over to end users.
Coordination of weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors, plant facilities groups, & manufacturing shops.
Conduct work progress inspections on a continuous basis
Support construction administration activities related to schedule coordination, quality confirmations, weekly coordination meetings, and planned utility outages.
Conduct inspections and observations of mechanical building systems for compliance with project specifications, quality standards, & applicable codes.
Oversee work of mechanical contractors for adherence to project delivery methods, schedule milestone targets, & coordination with other groups.
Prepare field engineering status reports of work progress and schedule to Project Managers.
Provide input and feedback to improve project technical specifications and standards.
Construction Coordinator Duties:
Implement building construction projects to support site.
Coordinates construction scheduling and communication.
Manage daily construction and RFI support for construction projects.
Act as liaison between in-field construction and project management.
May be responsible for estimates, schedules, materials and purchase orders.
Supervises construction activity in the field.
Coordinate weekend/shutdown work plans with contractors, facilities, NAMC shops, PC, and PE.
Work with vendors and contractors to coordinate equipment delivery, installation, and scheduling.
Have knowledge of general building construction methods.
Monitor equipment installation methods for confirmation that installation meets specifications and drawings.
Coordinator RFI s and Field Change Orders.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
OSHA 10 Certified
10 years of experience in Industrial or Commercial Construction projects.
5 years in Mechanical Design field.
Experience in mechanical system design criteria development.
Proficient drawing review and field application abilities.
Proficient in AutoCAD & Bluebeam
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and MS Project
Automotive or industrial manufacturing experience.
Strong technical knowledge of construction means and methods.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to manage construction schedules daily, weekly, and monthly.
Ability to stand, stoop, and walk in large industrial plants for extended periods.
Ability to ascend & descend stairs to roof or equipment rooms.
Other Requirements:
25%: Travel - Domestic and International (Canada/Mexico) (able to obtain a US Passport)
20%: Over-time - which covers weekends, holidays, and shutdowns, when required
PPE: Will wear Steel Toed Shoes/Hard Hat and Safety Glasses
