Currently, we are seeking a Sr. Hardware Engineer with at least 5 years of experience, based in Eden Prairie, MN.
- Work with a project lead and small team to create product concepts and designs
- Hardware development - contribute towards prototype design, debug and validation through production release and support
- Design, document and perform unit tests to validate product features
- Troubleshoot problems, identify root cause and solution of hardware and behavioral device issues
- Understand and work with existing hardware designs
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
- Mentor less senior team members
Must Haves
- 5 years experience in hardware design & development
- Experience with electrical schematics and hardware troubleshooting
- Experience reviewing and providing guidance on printed circuit board layouts
- Experience with design, assembly, and testing of prototypes including debugging of electrical hardware
- Experience in creating and maintaining design documentation including requirement specification, hardware design validation plans, detailed validation reports, DFMEAs, etc.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and AI tools to create technical documentation and present data for analysis
- Strong working knowledge of test equipment such as meters, digital scopes, communication analyzers, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong Pluses
- Experience with wireless technologies (Cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth)
- Experience with I2C, SPI, RS-232, Ethernet, & USB interfaces
- Experience with using embedded 32 bit & Linux hardware systems
- Experience with programming for automation (Python etc)
- Experience with soldering fine pitch SMT components for prototyping and debugging
- Knowledge of APQP principles and application to product development methodologies
- Experience with high volume manufacturing and product development life cycle
- Experience in designing product to meet EMC regulatory requirements such as FCC/IC and CE
