What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Veterinary Technician position at Calabasas Community Veterinary Center?
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Calabasas Community Veterinary Center | Calabasas, CA Pay: $30–38/hr, depending on experience, with special consideration for high-level RVTs
A brand-new hospital, zero corporate baggage, and a founding team of RVTs who get to build the place from the ground up. No "well, that's just how it's always been done." Just good medicine, done right, from day one.
You'll get real mentorship, real say in how things run, and coworkers who really want to be here. Our administrative leadership brings over 35 years of combined experience in general practice and across specialty medicine, including ECC, internal medicine, and surgery, with board-certified specialists consulting alongside us to help set the standard from day one. Whether you're a GP technician who loves a well-run day or an Urgent Care tech who thrives when things get loud, there's a lane for you.
What you'll actually be doing
- Anesthesia induction and monitoring, dentistry, and surgical support
- Diagnostics, radiology, ultrasound, and endoscopy support
- Venipuncture and catheter placement
- Hospitalized patient care and client education that doesn't feel scripted
- Setting the bar. Every RVT hired after you will be trained to your standard
What we're hoping you bring
- An active California RVT license
- A steady hand and a level head, especially if Urgent Care is your speed
- Genuine care for your patients and the humans attached to them
Shifts and perks
- Daytime, early swing, and overnight shifts available. Daytime currently runs 7am to 7pm, with extended Urgent Care hours from 5am to midnight
- 8-hour shifts for now, moving to 10s pending a team vote (your call, literally)
- A doctor and an RVT or veterinary assistant on staff 24/7, so you're never carrying a shift alone
- Health, vision, and dental insurance, a 401k, and PTO
- An 80% employee discount and a CE stipend to keep growing your skills, because the fewer things you have to worry about, the better. Right?
This is a ground-floor seat. Help us build the protocols, the culture, and the standard everyone else gets trained on. Tell us which track calls to you, General Practice or Urgent Care, when you apply.
