Interim Controller – Construction

Location: Springfield, Tennessee
Work Schedule: 100% onsite
Assignment: Interim; duration to be determined (approximately 4 months with possibility to convert to perm)
Target Start: By the end of October 2026

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Interim Controller with construction industry experience to oversee financial reporting, daily accounting operations, and treasury functions. This role will lead a four-person accounting team and provide hands-on financial leadership during an interim coverage period.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and treasury.

• Manage month-end close and prepare accurate, timely financial statements.

• Oversee work-in-progress (WIP) accounting and related construction financial reporting.

• Review financial activity and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and maintain strong internal controls.

• Supervise four direct reports: an AR/AP lead, a staff accountant supporting treasury, a senior accountant, and an additional staff accountant.

• Partner with leadership to maintain continuity across accounting and financial functions.

Required Qualifications

• Prior construction industry accounting experience is essential.

• Strong understanding of WIP accounting and related financial reporting.

• Experience as a Controller or in a comparable accounting leadership role.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting operations, and treasury functions.

• Proven ability to lead an accounting team while remaining hands-on.

• Availability to work 100% onsite in Springfield, Tennessee, ideally starting by the end of October.
