POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Shop Helper

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Shop Supervisor

Cal-Waste Recovery Systems is looking for a talented full-time Shop Helper to work in our Maintenance Shop. Cal-Waste is a leading innovator in the waste and recycling industry. Job Duties:

· Operates hydraulic lifting equipment, i.e., forklifts.

· Checks and cleans wash rack, carts, and containers.

· Repairs containers by painting, and decaling…etc.

· Informs onsite supervisor of any maintenance issues at the yard.

· Fuels our fleet of trucks each daily.

· Completes weekly inventory of all carts, containers and rolloff boxes.

· Performs preventative maintenance services, such as oil changes, etc.

· Assist in maintaining orderliness of the yard.

· Other general labor

· Effectively communicates with supervisor and co-workers.

· Ability to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. when needed.

· Complies with standards and procedures of Cal-Waste Health and Safety and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

· Complete housekeeping duties in assigned area or project area on a daily basis and/or when required.

· Complete required paperwork daily.

· Reports safety hazards and incidents to appropriate management.

· Performs other duties as assigned by management.

· Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company/OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently.

• Good verbal communication skills.

• The ability to operate equipment, forklift, scissor lift.

• Ability to weld at an entry level or willingness to learn to weld.

Pay Range:

$18-$22 per hour

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
