GENERAL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Contracts and Risk Manager to oversee and manage our contractual agreements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of contract management processes and vendor management. This role requires excellent negotiation skills, the ability to draft and review proposals, and a keen eye for detail in document management. The Contracts and Risk Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with contractual obligations while fostering positive relationships with vendors and stakeholders. It is expected that this candidate will have strong (above average) oral and writing skills, be well organized, have a good understanding of contracts, and work well in a supporting role.
DUTIES:
- Review of customer contract agreements. Includes all terms and conditions and attachments but especially insurance, bonding, and other customer specific compliance requirements. Includes submitting the proper information to internal team members, insurance carriers, and bonding agents. Alert senior management of any excessive or unwarranted requirements prior to the execution of contract agreements. Obtain and keep current any necessary business licenses, permits, or certificates that are required by customer contract agreements.
- Generate and manage agreements for goods and services to our vendors, subcontractors, and professional service companies. Includes flow down requirements from the customer contract agreements. Request certificates of insurance and verify they meet minimum requirements as applicable and track expiration dates.
- Maintain detailed and organized files. Maintain auditable files for each contract which will include the original contract, change orders, all pertinent correspondence, pricing, certificates of insurance, changes/deviations or addendums, safety records and any other supplemental documentation for all types of agreements.
- After the project management team approves accounts payable invoices, this position includes authority to withhold payments to vendors, subcontractors, and professional service companies for various contract compliance items such as certified payroll reports, insurance policy expiration, pending claims or potential legal issues, and more.
- Submit required preliminary notices on applicable projects to our customers. Track preliminary notices submitted by vendors, subcontractors, and professional service companies.
- Must have a thorough understanding of insurance policies, specifically relating to coverages, exclusions, limits, endorsements, and waivers. This applies to all types of contracts. Review and approve all accounts payable invoices from insurance and bonding companies.
- Act as the primary contact for all claims. This includes insurance claims, public damage claims, utility strike claims, or any other type of claim. This position must ensure all information is properly submitted, tracked, and followed through. Includes communication of claim status to company owners and managers.
- Assist in ongoing improvement of all legal documents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in contract management or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of vendor management practices and strategies.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes.
- Proficient in proposal writing and technical writing.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
- Experience with document review and management systems.
SCHEDULE:
- 8-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
PAY RANGE: $75,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year. This role will include full-time hourly non-exempt compensation structure.
