Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Head Coach for The California State University San Marcos Baseball Club. This leadership role involves developing competitive team strategies, fostering a positive team environment, and promoting sportsmanship among student-athletes. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for baseball, strong coaching skills, and experience working with college-level athletes. As the Head Coach, you will inspire players to reach their full potential both on and off the field, ensuring a dynamic and engaging athletic experience.
Duties
- Lead all aspects of team training, including practice planning, skill development, and game strategy implementation
- Develop and enforce team policies that promote discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork
- Provide mentorship and guidance to players on academic performance, personal growth, and athletic development
- Foster a positive team culture through effective communication, motivation, and behavior management
- Collaborate with athletic department staff to ensure compliance with college policies and NCAA and NCBA regulations
Skills
- Proven experience coaching baseball at the college, high school or club level with a strong understanding of game tactics and player development
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with players, staff, and college officials
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and motivating athletes toward shared goals
- Ability to teach sports-specific techniques such as batting, pitching, fielding, and base running
- Experience working with diverse groups of students or young athletes in a coaching or teaching capacity
- Strong organizational skills for scheduling practices, games, travel logistics, and equipment management
Pay: $22.50 per hour
