ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY

SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Associate Director or General Manager, the Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the area(s) assigned and management and directing of work of those subordinates in the area. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below and will vary based upon a variety of factors including business necessity, location, and customer requests. Will be required to work evenings and weekends.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

• Responsible for the financial performance of the area(s) assigned.
• Forecasts weekly, monthly, and annual financial activity.
• Prepares annual budgets for area(s) assigned.
• Assists staff in operational tasks (i.e., cashiering, bussing, food preparation, etc)
• Responsible for ensuring staffing levels are appropriate and meet financial and operational goals and adjusts staffing as needed based on business need and using independent judgment and discretion.
• Ensures compliance with established laws and regulations within their assigned area.
• Ensures continued adherence to all Foundation standards and procedures within their assigned area.
• Attends a variety of meetings as directed by the Associate Director.
• Accountable for the development and implementation of effective training programs in their area of responsibility.
• Ensures the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of production, service, and common areas by assigning and directing the work of staff.
• Ensures assigned area is ready for service, and maintained at the highest quality throughout service.
• Required to operate company vehicles to transport food, staff, and guests.
• Ensures compliance with cash and credit card policies and procedures in all area(s) assigned.
• Resolves equipment, maintenance, and facility issues quickly and effectively.
• Interacts directly with customers and vendors to resolve issues and complaints in a timely manner.
• Responsible for ensuring work schedules are communicated appropriately and time is recorded per foundations standards. Ensures staff report to work on time, in uniform, and ready to work.
• Required to communicate with co-workers, vendors, and other departments with professionalism and respect.
• Maintains positive behaviors and actions and provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
• Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
• May prepare a variety of food and beverages, receive and store inventory, move and lift supplies and prepare meals for customers.
• Responsible for submitting a variety of routine and complex reports in an accurate, timely manner.
• Ability to adhere to a regular work schedule.
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Vocational certificate or a minimum of five years supervisory experience in a high-volume foodservice operation.
• Valid CA driver’s license and insurance.
• Servsafe Manager’s or equivalent certification.
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop, interpret and apply policies and procedures to variety of situations.
• Ability to be resourceful and to take initiative.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a multi-ethnic environment.
• Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules; open to new ideas and adaptable to changing technology.
• Strong writing skills. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·         Five years of successful supervisory experience in a college or university food service operations.

SUPERVISION: Responsible for the training, recruiting, and evaluation of staff necessary to carry out effective operations of the area assigned; directly supervises full time and student staff; directly supervises the activities of contracted staff providing services that may include custodial, landscaping, trash collection, pest control, repairs and other facility services. Assigns and directs the work of subordinates using independent judgment and discretion. Is responsible for the performance failures of subordinates.
