Cal-Line Equipment is looking to hire an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician Mechanic to join our growing team. We specialize in vegetation management equipment, catering to the arborist industry and are the largest dealer in the world for Bandit Industries’ market leading product line of woodchippers, stump grinders and whole-tree chippers. We have six locations across the Western U.S. including locations in California, Oregon, and Washington. In addition, we are a leader in promoting education within our industry, conducting seminars ranging from safety, operations and maintenance and bugs and disease.

Salary: $34.00 - $42.00 an hour depending on experience.

Service Technician Mechanic Description:
As a Service Technician Mechanic, you will be working on will be working on commercial woodchippers, stump grinders, mini skids steers, and large horizontal grinders.
- Some travel may be required for repairs onsite at customer locations.

Requirements:
- Experience: 3 years of hands-on experience with construction or heavy diesel equipment, specifically focusing on electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Technical Literacy: Proficient in reading and interpreting complex electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Diagnostics: Proven ability to troubleshoot machine breakdowns using computer diagnostic software.
- Documentation: Ability to generate clear parts requisitions and detailed service work orders.
- Compliance: Must possess a valid driver’s license (clean record), a complete personal toolset, and the ability to pass background and drug screenings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Safety: Perform factory-recommended preventative maintenance and conduct thorough safety inspections to identify wear or damage.
- Specialized Diagnosis: Provide expert-level electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnosis repair across a diverse fleet.
- Brand Proficiency: Utilize schematics and diagnostic software to service equipment from CAT, John Deere, Cummins, Kohler, PSI, Perkins, Vanguard, Honda, and others.
- Fabrication: Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed (experience in this area is a significant plus).
