Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Assistant Property Manager for our multifamily residential portfolio. This role involves supporting the property management team in daily operations, ensuring compliance with housing regulations, and providing exceptional service to residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property management, administrative tasks, and customer relations, with an emphasis on legal and regulatory knowledge such as Fair Housing, and Section 8 programs. Duties
- Assist in leasing activities including property tours, tenant screening, and lease signing
- Coordinate the tenant move in and move out processes
- Manage tenant relations by addressing inquiries, resolving conflicts, and providing exceptional customer service
- Support compliance with Fair Housing regulations and Section 8 housing programs
- Prepare and review lease agreements, contracts, and legal documents ensuring adherence to landlord-tenant law
- Coordinate property maintenance requests with in-house maintenance as well as external vendors and ensure timely resolution
- Maintain accurate data entry, filing systems, and documentation related to leasing, payments, and legal compliance
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety standards are met and assist with facilities management tasks
- Support rent collection processes and delinquency management
- Assist with administrative duties including phone etiquette, filing, record keeping, and data management using AppFolio, Ring Central and Google business
Skills
- Strong knowledge of AppFolio, our property management software
- Familiarity with Section 8 housing regulations, Fair Housing laws, landlord-tenant law, and legal administrative procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict management professionally
- Proven experience in property leasing
- Office experience including data entry, filing systems, and administrative support functions
- Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette and customer relationship management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of property maintenance coordination
- Experience in real estate administrative functions such as legal documentation handling and compliance monitoring
- This role is integral to maintaining a positive living environment for residents while ensuring operational efficiency for the property management team.
Pay: $ $31.25 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
