SUMMARY

While in an Offsite setting, the Offsite Leadman oversees fabrication and/or repair of equipment, fixtures and various types of metal objects and structures as required by Manager and Customer Requirements. Laying out and examining metalwork pieces or stock to be processed for ensuring that client specifications are met.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

INCLUDES ALL, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Must have, or able to obtain, all government required qualifications (TWIC, PEC, Etc..)
  • Must be on time prepared and in position when workday begins.
  • After punching in check with the Manager for work to be assigned.
  • Interprets drawings and remember/document verbal customer instructions for welding of metal parts and other offsite activities
  • Fits and tacks metal parts together, using both multiple fitting and tack welding techniques.
  • Performs related tasks, such as thermal cutting and grinding.
  • Repairs or Fabricates from new, metal parts as per customer requirements.
  • Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
  • Able to read and follow applicable welding procedures.
  • Able to use measuring instruments and miscellaneous hand tools needed to accomplish Structural and or Pipe Fitting task.
  • Possess the ability to learn new skills to operate different welding equipment.
  • Follows all company safety and quality procedures.
  • Performs all required duties in a timely manner without constant supervision and still ensure quality work.
  • While performing your duties, reports (delivery tickets, etc.) any problems immediately to Manager.
  • Able to operate all equipment in a safe manner within corporate safety procedures and equipment specifications.
  • Documents all time worked to the proper job and to minimize indirect time. (Indirect time is defined as hours which are non-billable and are a direct cost to the company.)
  • No personal projects will be worked on during or after working hours unless cleared by your supervisor. Personal projects must never compete with customer jobs for machine time.
  • You are responsible for your work areas; keep them clean, neat and organized at all times. The work site can be inspected by customers and/or government safety officials (BSEE, OSHA, etc.) at any time.
  • Be sure all shop tools and supplies are returned to their proper locations when you have finished with them.
  • Supervisor has the authority to add to this duties list, at any time, to accommodate any emergency or unusual situation, to satisfy our customer.
  • We allow a 10-minute break time for all personnel beginning at 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily. These breaks are not to be abused and you are expected to be at your work station at the end of the break period. The breaks and lunch are to be taken in the designated areas. Unauthorized personnel are not allowed in the office area or on the office computers at any time.

POSITION TYPE

  • This position can be held by Cajun Cutters employees and self-contracted workers
  • Self-Contracted workers must maintain a valid EIN number.
  • This is an “On-Call” position and hours of work vary depending on customer needs. Will be required to work long hours and weekends frequently. Working in an Offshore setting is required.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Legal resident of The United States
  • TWIC, SafeGulf (PEC), and T-HUET Certifications are required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of welding/fitting experience preferred
  • Ability to manage the customer relationship professionally
  • Strong ability to organize effectively, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability to manage people effectively
  • Knowledge of weld shop power tools and equipment
  • Must have a valid Louisiana Driver’s License to drive Company owned vehicles.
  • Must be able to read a work order, use simple measuring instruments, identify types of material, read Welding Procedures and follow directions
  • Must be able to interpret shop drawings or customer prints and assemble parts as required

AUTHORIZATION/CLEARANCE

  • This position has limited access to proprietary intellectual property of Cajun Cutters LLC. Discretion and confidentiality is expected.

TRAVEL

  • Traveling will be required with this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This job operates in an offshore setting and shop environment that is not climate controlled.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This is a job that is physically demanding.
  • Must be able to work in an environment that is not climate controlled
  • Must be able to work long hours standing and walking.
  • Must be able to walk, stoop, reach, climb and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have 4 of 5 senses, (ability to taste excluded), with sight correctable with glasses to be able to pass proficiency test

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
