This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Wichita, Kansas Metropolitan Area for a Community Health Worker. The primary responsibilities include providing individuals and families with assistance in navigating healthcare services, conducting outreach to underserved populations, coordinating access to medical and vision services, and educating the community about available healthcare resources. The role also involves documenting interactions, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with other healthcare and social service organizations to connect clients to supportive services.
- Knowledge of public health systems, community resources, and health advocacy
- Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse populations
- Ability to manage records, perform basic administrative tasks, and stay organized
- Experience in outreach, education, or community-based health work is preferred
- Proficiency in using computer software, including Microsoft Office and record-keeping systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently as needed
- Flexibility to adapt to new challenges and effectively address the needs of clients
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification related to community health work is a plus
- Bilingual or multilingual capabilities are highly desirable
