Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, warm, reliable and dedicated individual to join our team in the infant and toddler classrooms (part time or full time). You will play a vital role in educating and nurturing young children, fostering their growth and development. You will create a positive and engaging environment that promotes social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Cainhoy Children's Academy is a private, family owned preschool in the Cainhoy/Point Hope community near Daniel Island, and we have been open for more than 5 years now.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and supportive environment for children to explore, learn, and play
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation and engagement
- Monitor and assess each child's progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for growth
- Collaborate with parents/guardians to ensure open communication and involvement in their child's education
- Maintain accurate records of each child's development, behavior, and attendance
- Promote positive behavior management techniques to create a respectful and inclusive classroom environment
- Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
-Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
-Maintain a clean and tidy classroom
-Help children reach developmental milestones
-Collaborate with others to implement lesson plans
-Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills
-Adhere to health/safety and sanitation procedures
Requirements:
- 6 months (minimum) experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports each child's unique needs
- Passion for working with young children and helping them reach their full potential
- Fully capable to have visual and hearing capabilities consistent with Child Licensing
