Brick Mason

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brick Mason to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life, ensuring durability, safety, and aesthetic appeal across a variety of projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, from new builds to renovation and restoration projects, utilizing your masonry craftsmanship to deliver high-quality results.

Duties

• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stone, and other masonry materials with precision and attention to detail
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute project specifications accurately
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying mortar or other bonding agents for optimal adhesion
• Install rebar reinforcement and form concrete structures as needed for stability and strength
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely to cut, shape, and set masonry units efficiently
• Perform finishing tasks such as plastering, stucco application, caulking, and trim carpentry to achieve polished surfaces
• Assist with concrete forming, pouring, and finishing for various structural elements including walls, facades, and foundations
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects within safety standards

Requirements

• Proven experience in masonry work on construction sites with a solid understanding of construction processes
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to masonry projects
• Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques including troweling and surface smoothing
• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as mixers or scaffolding safely when necessary
• Familiarity with installation of rebar, metal stud framing, roofing components, and tile laying is a plus
• Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., chisels, hammers) and power tools (e.g., saws, drills) effectively
• Experience with renovation or restoration projects involving stucco or plastering is desirable
• Strong understanding of safety protocols on construction sites including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
