Description

SUMMARY

 

Monitors casino activities, transactions and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Tribal laws and regulations as well as compliance with required internal controls. Protect assets by monitoring and reporting deficiencies or violations via CCTV surveillance system.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Reports to the Surveillance & Compliance Assistant Manager.
  • Operates CCTV cameras and records all activities on casino grounds.
  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Observes all table games to detect internal control violations, casino policy and procedure violations or external and internal theft or cheating.
  • Monitors all employees to ensure compliance with internal controls and casino policy and procedures.
  • Monitors count rooms to ensure compliance with internal controls, casino policy and procedures and to prevent internal theft.
  • Scrutinize patrons to determine if they are excluded from the casino.
  • Monitors other non-gaming departments and personnel activities and transactions.
  • Monitor sensitive areas via access control system.
  • Proficiency in all forms of card counting and table game cheating methods.
  • Conducts reviews to determine internal control, casino policy and procedure, external and internal theft violations.
  • Monitors cage and vault areas to ensure compliance with internal controls, casino policy and procedures and to prevent internal theft.
  • Monitor slot machine access via slot tracking system.
  • Knowledge of internal layout of a slot machine.
  • Prepares daily logs and incident reports on reported or observed violations, deficiencies or criminal acts.
  • Works closely with Tribal Gaming Agency personnel as well as appropriate casino personnel in fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Assist outside regulatory or law enforcement agencies as necessary.
  • Directs and monitors sensitive investigations to ensure that proper investigative methods are utilized.
  • Manage covert investigations.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Surveillance & Compliance Manager.

EDUCATION AND/ OR EXPERIENCE

 

High school diploma or GED.  Law enforcement, regulatory, surveillance or investigative related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

 

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret accounting and gaming related documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, including, casino management, customers, law enforcement etc.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as: probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to maintain true count during card counting detection procedures. Ability to count currency and playing chips. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

 

Ability to define problems with data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

Must be competent in computer skills. Must be detailed orientated. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and watch CCTV monitors. Must be able to operate a two-way radio. Must be able to make minor repairs to cameras, videotape recorders and other surveillance equipment. Must have superior interpersonal relations skills.

The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
