Cahaba Beach Dog Park has immediate openings for Kennel and Day Care Attendants. We are looking for individuals who are energetic, dependable, hard working, organized, self-motivated and above all, LOVE DOGS.
Our Kennel and Day Care Attendants work part-time. We currently have positions that are year-round. Candidates need to be 18 or over and available for shifts between 6:30am-6:30pm. We do not have any seasonal open and we are looking for candidates with open availability.
If you love the outdoors and love animals, this could be a great job for you! The primary responsibilities are maintaining and facilitating a safe and fun play for large groups of dogs in an open setting. Strong customer service skills are also required as you will have some interaction with the public.
Minimum Requirements:
- Reliable transportation (we are located in the 280 area of Inverness)
- Ability to work a variety of shifts (opening, closing, weekends and holidays)
- Able to interact in a positive way with all sizes and types of dogs.
- Ready to take on heavy cleaning on a daily basis (Lots of dogs means lots of cleaning!)
- Be able to lift and move 50 lbs
Kennel and Day Care Attendants will be responsible for maintaining control of a large group of open play dogs in the play area at all times to ensure a safe environment. They need to be able to be continuously on their feet showing the dogs attention and care to ensure that they are maintaining a safe environment. While attendants are trained on the language of dogs, they must be able to actively monitor for all health or behavioral issues and address proactively in a timely and effective manner. This may include crating for time outs when necessary, but NEVER includes the use of physical force or punishment of a dog. We have a zero-tolerance policy for the mistreatment of animals.
Successful team members are aware of their environment at all times and consistently attend to the ever-changing environment and special needs of each dog. This position requires a high level of responsibility as we are caring for the lives of animals and monitoring and maintaining a safe environment. All team members must follow very strict safety and health procedures including the proper handling of dog safe chemicals.
