Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a diverse range of baked goods, including pastries, cakes, and cookies, following established recipes and quality standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and decorating tools safely and efficiently
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision using various cake decorating techniques to meet customer specifications
- Manage food preparation tasks including pastry assembly, and portioning to ensure high-volume production needs are met
- Maintain a clean workspace by adhering to food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper storage procedures
- Package baked goods carefully for retail display or catering orders while ensuring freshness and presentation quality
- Assist with food handling procedures, inventory management, and restocking supplies as needed to support smooth kitchen operations
Experience
- 2 years of baking experience in a high-volume production environment such as a bakery, café or restaurant is preferred
- Demonstrated skills in cake decorating, pastry preparation.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to hygiene standards
- Familiarity with operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in baked goods production
- Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines during busy periods
- Customer service experience is a plus for engaging with clients or retail customers
