Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant cafécito team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional customer service, prepare high-quality coffee and food items, and maintain a clean and welcoming work area. This role requires ability to work in a fast-paced retail food industry setting, engaging with customers and honing your skills in beverage preparation. Required days of work are Fri-Sun mornings and some evening for special events.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks using espresso machines and other equipment
- Operate POS systems such as Square for order processing, payments, and cash handling
- Manage customer orders efficiently with strong time management skills to ensure quick service during busy hours
- Handle cash register transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for sales and change
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including food safety standards and food handling procedures
- Assist with food preparation and serving of light food items, adhering to food safety guidelines
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries and ensuring a positive experience
- Restock supplies, monitor inventory levels, and ensure the café environment is inviting and organized
Qualifications
- Previous barista experience or background in high paced restaurant work is preferred.
- Strong skills in sales, cashiering, and food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently with good time management skills
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and transaction accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Bilingual is a huge plus
