Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in meal preparation and ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all guests
- Handle food items with care, demonstrating proper food handling techniques
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours
- Participate in menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes
- Assist with catering events as needed, ensuring high-quality service and presentation
- Utilize knife skills effectively for meal preparation
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred
- Background in menu planning, cooking, or food service is highly desirable
- Experience in the restaurant or food industry is beneficial
- Culinary experience with an emphasis on food preparation and safety practices
- Familiarity with catering services and serving techniques is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
