Responsibilities
- Decorate cakes, pastries, and baked goods with intricate designs, frosting, fondant, and other decorative elements according to customer specifications and bakery standards
- Prepare a variety of baked goods including doughs, fillings, and icing while adhering to recipes and food safety guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, knives, and decorating tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by following sanitation protocols and ensuring all tools are properly sanitized after use
- Package finished products carefully for sale or delivery, ensuring presentation quality and product integrity
- Assist in food preparation tasks related to cake assembly, pastry making, and other bakery items as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers about their orders and offering product recommendations when appropriate
Requirements
- Proven experience in cake decorating, pastry preparation, or food production within a bakery or restaurant setting
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in dough preparation, baking techniques, and food handling safety practices
- Ability to follow detailed recipes accurately while maintaining high-volume production standards
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to health regulations
- Excellent attention to detail with an eye for artistic design in baked goods decoration
- Basic math skills for measurements, portioning, and recipe adjustments
- Previous experience operating kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and decorating tools is preferred
- Customer service experience is a plus for engaging with clients effectively
