Food Service Attendant

Job Summary

Cafe Monte French Bakery and Bistro is seeking a friendly, dependable, and service-oriented Food Service Attendant to support daily bakery, café, and bistro operations. This role assists with guest service, food and beverage preparation and service, order handling, dining area maintenance, restocking, and cleanliness while helping provide a welcoming experience for customers.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate special requests.
• Assist with preparing and serving bakery items, pastries, breakfast dishes, sandwiches, desserts, beverages, and other menu offerings.
• Support food preparation, portioning, plating, packaging, and order assembly as needed.
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, juices, and other beverages according to established procedures.
• Ensure food and beverage orders are accurate, complete, and properly presented.
• Deliver orders promptly and courteously.
• Answer guest questions about menu items, ingredients, bakery products, and beverages.
• Assist guests with menu selections and communicate dietary requests to the appropriate team member.
• Operate the point-of-sale system and process customer payments as required.
• Maintain clean and organized dining areas, counters, service stations, display areas, and workspaces.
• Clear and reset tables to maintain a neat and welcoming café and bistro environment.
• Restock pastries, ingredients, beverages, cups, utensils, napkins, containers, and other service supplies.
• Assist kitchen, bakery, café, and front-of-house team members during busy service periods.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, beverage stations, tools, and equipment according to established procedures.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace safety procedures.
• Communicate guest concerns, supply needs, inventory needs, and service issues to supervisors.
• Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and general food service duties.
• Help maintain consistent food quality, presentation, freshness, and order accuracy.
• Perform other food service, bakery, café, and customer support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous food service, bakery, café, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced café, bakery, or bistro environment.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Willingness to learn food preparation, beverage service, and café procedures.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety practices.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Comfortable standing, walking, and performing hands-on food service tasks.
• Ability to remain courteous and professional during busy service periods.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
