What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista/Cashier position at Cafe Matto?
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar area
- Handle cash transactions and ensure accurate cash handling procedures
- Provide excellent customer service, ensuring customer satisfaction with each interaction
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines in the preparation and handling of food and beverages
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies as needed
Requirements:
- Previous experience in food service or a similar role is preferred
- Strong sales skills to upsell products and increase revenue
- Ability to handle food safely and follow proper food handling procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
