Server/Cashier and Caterng Server

Cafe Hope is seeking a friendly, dedicated team member to join our mission as a daytime Server/Cashier and Catering Server Employee. This individual would be in charge of supplying customers with their snack and beverage needs as well as be able to wait tables and serve bar guests. They must have their responsible vendor's permit, be organized and self-motivated. A positive attitude and courteous personality is a must!

Cafe Hope is located at Timberlane Golf & Recreation. While we are situated in the Timberlane Neighborhood and directly on the golf course, we are similar to a country club environment. However, we are open to the public and operate separately from the golf course as a non-profit dedicated to serving opportunity youth right here on the Westbank!

In addition to a generous hourly salary the Server/Cashier position does have tip compensation from any walk up or table guests as well! Catering Event pay is based on event gratuities.

```Duties```
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their inquiries and needs
- Maintain a clean and organized environment
- Sanitize and clean work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly
-Maintain a working knowledge of our menu and other products.

-Be able to use this menu knowledge in conjunction with serving skills to efficiently assist guests throughout their dining experience.

-As a server, they will be responsible for completing all tasks directly asked and written down on daily checklists.
- Operate cash registers and handle sales transactions accurately
- Stock shelves and maintain inventory levels
- Assist in receiving and unpacking merchandise shipments
- Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and inventory management
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding sales, refunds, and exchanges
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations

```Qualifications```
- Previous experience in customer service or retail is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner
- Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management
- Ability to work and contribute to a positive work culture
- Knowledge of retail math concepts is a plus

-Must be certified to serve alcohol in the State of Louisiana (Responsible Vendors Permit) and be permitted according to Jefferson Parish alcohol serving regulations.

- Familiarity with food handling regulations and safety guidelines is desirable.

-Knowledge of Toast POS is a plus, but not required.

-Bartending experience is a plus as we do serve guests at and from a full service bar (i.e., bar guests joining for lunch, golfers requiring drinks before/during/after play).
