Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Customer Service representative to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to customers, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role requires strong communication skills, proficiency with POS systems, and a proactive attitude toward sales and merchandising. Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a diverse customer base. Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery stores is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate POS systems efficiently to process customer transactions accurately and quickly
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their shopping experience
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and accountability
- Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling opportunities
- Maintain merchandise displays through merchandising and stocking activities
- Conduct product demos when applicable to promote sales and inform customers about features
- Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times
- Support inventory management by assisting with stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Uphold phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Promote store promotions, loyalty programs, and additional sales opportunities
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and courteously
- Basic math skills for retail math calculations such as making change and totaling sales
- Experience in retail sales, merchandising, stocking, or grocery store environments is desirable
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance customer satisfaction and store revenue
- Bilingual skills are a plus for serving a diverse clientele effectively
- Excellent phone etiquette for remote assistance or inquiries
- Supervising experience is beneficial for leadership roles or team support responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 34 – 38 per week
