Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic Barista to join our team at Cafe Berlin, a cozy coffee shop in Berlin. The ideal Team Member will have a passion for coffee, enjoy interacting with Guests, and contribute to a welcoming environment. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality beverages, serving fresh food, and providing beyond exceptional Guest service.
Key Tasks:
- Greet and welcome Guests, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks and other beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, and teas, to standard recipes
- Operate and maintain espresso machine and other kitchen & coffee equipment
- Ensure the café remains clean, organized, and stocked
- Take orders, handle payments on point-of-sale terminals
- Assist with preparing and serving food items as needed (e.g., pastries, sandwiches)
- Educate Guests on different coffee options and make recommendations based on their preferences
- Contribute to a positive and friendly work environment and support team members
- Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards
Requirements:
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable vibe
- Prior experience as a barista is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Basic math skills for handling cash and card transactions
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
