What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Line Cook position at Café Boulud - Palm Beach?
Café Boulud - Palm Beach boasts a menu inspired by Daniel's four muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, the flavors of world cuisine.
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and finishing food on one of the following stations in the kitchen: Saucier, Hot appetizer, Rôtisseur, Garde-manger, Entremétier, Poissonnier, or Soupe along with Pastry.
During service a Line Cook must be able to follow instructions from the Chef, Sous Chef and team correctly and efficiently. This position is hourly-based. They should be able to read and follow recipes and standards, maintain health department, food quality, and restaurant standards.
Essential Duties:
- Must be able to communicate clearly with their managers and his/her teammates
- Keep their production to the level required by the Executive Chef
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment throughout the shift in accordance with Health Department and restaurant standards
- Maintain the high standards established by the Executive Chef
- Ability to perform all essential duties during a lengthy, high-volume and high-pressure service.
- Must be able to follow instructions during service from Chef, Sous Chef or Chef de Partie throughout the service
Competencies & Qualifications:
- 2 year of experience in high volume or fine dining environment
- Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner, which is accurate, complete, and of high quality
- Actively practice food safety procedures
- Effective time management
- Ability to lift large items up to 50 pounds
