Qualifications
- Excellent physical health / must be able to lift 35 lbs and stand on solid industrial floors for several hours
- High school diploma or GED is required
- Experience in school food service preferred
- Willingness to advance or train for any job

Responsibilities
- Perform the final preparation of food items, including sandwiches, fruits, salads and other menu items
- Set up serving areas and assist with the service of meals in accordance with established procedures
- Clean and sanitize food preparation, serving, and dining areas following meal service
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager
- Perform all basic duties in food preparation, such as dipping desserts, making sandwiches, preparing fresh fruits and vegetables, and salad making
- Develop an understanding of and practice good sanitation and safe food handling practices
- Assures that sanitation, health, and all safety standards required by the State Board of Health are practiced and meet departmental standards
- Help with other food preparation tasks where and when needed
- Display a knowledge of the different food components for a reimbursable meal for the child nutrition programs when serving foods
- Must be willing to learn how to operate commercial food preparation equipment such as slicers, steamers, ovens, and mixers
- Follows the manager's instructions in preparing, cooking, portioning, and serving meals
- Participates in the responsibilities for all cleaning duties, including dishwashing
- Must learn how to operate the point of sale (POS) equipment
- Maintains regular, on-time attendance
- Reacts to change productively and performs other duties as assigned

- Individuals must provide official transcripts, if applicable, updated resume, and three (3) letters of recommendation
- All persons employed by the Caesar Rodney School District are required to submit a criminal background check and a tuberculosis test
- Anyone offered employment is required to provide the following: proper identification (Social Security Card and Driver's License), documentation of eligibility for employment in the U.S.A., completion of I-9 form, and completion of paperwork for the Delaware Child Protection Registry
